Manchester United FC's flagship Megastore has reported an improvement in customer service and its business management system, courtesy of Toshiba and Quintek Systems.
Re-opened in 2002, the store can see up to 11,000 visitors on any one match day, building to a peak period two to three hours before kick-off. Plans to further increase the club's 68,000 seating capacity would mean even greater numbers being seen, hence the requirement for a PoS solution capable of handling very busy retail periods.
After several companies were evaluated, Quintek Systems Retail Terminal Manager software was selected, installed on two lanes of ten Toshiba ST-60 touch screen terminals and five further terminals based in the shirt printing, gallery and customer service departments.
Now in use, the system has given the store faster customer throughput, improved stock management and comprehensive reporting, with shirt printing having especially benefited.
Using new software developed by Quintek, the club can now offer fans an unlimited choice, with any permutation of shirt type, size, colour, number, players name or a personalised name of the customer's choice.
