Operation of the giant site will be in the hands of the APT 450 Parking System from SKIDATA™, a system already being used at more than 250 parking facilities throughout Italy.

A traffic guidance system directs motorists along the best route to the nearest free space and ticket dispensers and gate terminals are designed for rapid ticket issuing and validation. A special speed passage system allows for entry and exit gates to open automatically upon approach.

For operating convenience, the car park is divided into several sections, each of which is equipped with its own local control server and software, a degree of independence which ensures that the system remains fully functional even in the event of a total blackout.

Security at the car park is taken care of through full round-the-clock CCTV monitoring and a series of easy-to-use SOS emergency call terminals.

When completed, the new exhibition complex will house eight interconnected halls with a total exhibition area of 530,000 square metres, as well as 80 conference halls, 20 restaurants, and 25 bars.
